We’ve decided to simplify things and offer our own hosting service to WebMistress subscribers, rather than just endlessly make hosting company recommendations!  This makes it easier for us to support you via our WebMistress Service, and guarantees that your new site launches go faster and smoother. We use WPEngine. Because they are AMAZING.

We’re not a hosting company for the world – just for our actual design clients.

What this means is that you get the benefit of faster servers, top-notch support and formidable security, and don’t have to pay a monthly hosting bill.

Exclusions:

If you have a WordPress site that you’ve been blogging on for a while, you may not want to move it – that’s just fine – you can still be a WebMistress subscriber and stay with your existing host.  However, if you want to combine the two and save a bit of money on hosting, just let us know – we have the expertise to move your database to our host AND drop the new design onto it without impacting your hard-won SEO (if you’ve actually, you know, won any).

We do not provide hosting or support for non-Rowboat Media clients, or clients who are not subscribed to the WebMistress Service.

What if I want to change hosts or cancel the WebMistress Service?

We’ve all felt stuck with a webhost because it was just too scary or too much of a hassle to change.

Because we’re all about the non-scary and hassle-free experience, we’ll actually help facilitate your move to your own independent hosting account with WPEngine within 30 days of your notification that you wish to cancel with us. The process will be seamless, after you provide us with the login information for your new account.

If you choose to leave us and go with a host that isn’t WPEngine, then know that you have 30 days to have the new company grab your stuff and move it before your site goes down. We’ll also be happy to give that company all the access they need to do their job, with your authorization – but we don’t provide in-house support for those moves – you’re on your own there in working with your new hosting company.
